Medical Trips

Volunteer medical teams travel to the Hidota Health Center in Bora, Ethiopia every April and November. Medical professionals: MDs, NPs, PAs, RNs, and Pharmacists are needed, as well as non-medical volunteers to support and serve alongside them.

The team flies from the US to Addis Ababa, and then drives south through the lower rift valley into the Guge Mountains of southern Ethiopia.  The team will then hike 6 miles, ascending nearly 2,000 feet, from where the road ends in Chencha to the village of Bora.

During their time in Ethiopia, the team will provide medical care at the Hidota Health Center and other locations, as well as experience the beauty of Ethiopia through museums, meals, cultural experiences, and nature tours. These trips are an incredible  and meaningful experience for both the volunteers and the people of Bora.
